Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the famiiy photo sessions take place?

You have the option of either recommending your own location for your family photo shoot or leave it up to us to provide you with a list of some of our favourite spots. Please note that some locations, such as the Irene Diary Farm, charges a R350 booking fee for photo sessions which is donated to the Smuts House Museum in return. You can do the booking yourself at their office or leave it up to us to do the booking on your behalf.

What should we wear on the day?

We recommend not wearing clothes with logos/drawings/words with large fonts on clothes as it will distract, unless it is specifically chosen for the session. Try to coordinate the colors but don’t get too matchy. Also consider the time of year and its temperatures. Accessories such as rings or necklaces are also fine.

Do my children need to be perfectly behaved?

We have learned over time that children become restless and bored after 30 minutes so it is best to photograph them first. We have enjoyed working with children and although a challenge sometimes, we see it as a priority for the photo-sessions to be fun for all. Getting children to co-operative is impossible at times and the best plan of action then is to use toys to distract them and focus on taking natural photos that are not posed.

How long until we see our pictures?

Usually we will be able to send you a link where you will be able to download your family pictures within a week or 2 after the family photo session day.
